Job Description

This role will be part of the Record to Report (R2R) team The team is responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the Group, ensuring all accounting transactions are posted accurately and ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared accurately and on a timely basis. The key customer for this role is the Commercial Finance team (based in the UK) who will collaborate with the R2R basis to ensure the monthly management accounts reflect the accurate financial position of the Group.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Preparation of accurate monthly management P&L accounts by function – Revenue, Marketing, Employee costs, Product, IT Development, IT, Events, Editorial, Overheads.
  • Ensure capital and exceptional expenditure is recorded accurately and in accordance with the Group’s finance policies.
  • Monthly preparation of accruals schedules by function
  • Monthly preparation of prepayment schedules by function
  • Monthly reconciliation of revenue recognised
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting of journals requested by Commercial Finance
  • Monthly preparation of balance sheet risk & opportunities schedule
  • Ensuring frequent and timely communication with the Commercial Finance team on the above
  • Supporting the Group Finance team through the Group audit by the timely preparation of audit schedules and samples

Experience

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Qualified accountant

Desirable

  • NetSuite ERP experience

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to build relationships with other team members and departments
  • Able to resolve queries in a timely manner
