Job Description

The Software Engineering Manager is a hands-on engineering leader who shapes the technical direction, engineering culture, and delivery execution of high-volume and high-transaction systems across Experian Employer Services. You guide engineering and QA teams, contributes to architecture and code, strengthens security practices, and inspires a disciplined Agile operating model. We are looking for the ability to work across legacy and modern platforms, accelerate modernization, integrate teams from acquisitions, and build a cohesive engineering organization. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across backend, frontend, and cloud systems while mentoring engineers in design, coding practices, system reliability, and security.
  • Contribute to code, lead code and architecture reviews, and provide grounded judgment on maintainability, performance, and foundational engineering quality.
  • Partner with product, design, and technical leaders to define and steward a multi-year roadmap that balances feature delivery, modernization, and operational stability.
  • Run an Agile operating model with clear sprint goals, predictable delivery, and
  • 3+ years of experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners of progress and risks.
  • Strengthen engineering practices in code quality, automated testing, observability, DevSecOps, capacity planning, and incident response.
  • Guide engineering and QA teams from acquired organizations by assessing skills, improving agreement, and driving shared standards.
  • Promote platform stability by participating in on-call rotations, improving incident handling, and reducing operational toil through automation.
  • Build, recruit, and develop a engineering organization through talent selection, coaching, and career development.
  • Improve engineering metrics, including cycle time, deployment frequency, quality indicators, and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to support secure deployments, efficient environments, and cloud readiness.

Technical Requirements

  • Expertise in C#, .NET Framework, .NET 6 or newer, and modern architectural practices for distributed systems.
  • SQL Server background, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Understanding of frontend frameworks such as Angular or React and experience guiding full-stack teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including SCRUM team formation, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement practices.
