Job Description
The Platform Team at Experian is looking for an Engineering Manager with expertise in Java and AWS, with experience managing and scaling globally distributed engineering teams. The Platform Team provides reliable, available, and scalable services and tools for product teams to host their applications. This team focuses on delivering a compelling customer experience in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

- Lead the platform team in designing and implementing scalable and efficient solutions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Bring a passion to stay on top of industry trends, experiment with, and learn new technologies.
Qualifications
Your background:
- 8+ years' of overall experience in software engineering.
- 3+ years' of people management experience within an engineering environment.
- Experience with Java/J2EE technologies and working with the Spring Boot framework.
- Proficient in Object-Oriented Design principles and J2EE design patterns.
- Strong working knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs and NoSQL Databases, and MQ or Kafka.
- Strong working knowledge in Automation Testing – Unit and Integration testing.
- Expertise in end-to-end application architecture and system design.
- In-depth understanding of AWS cloud services, security best practices, and cloud design patterns.
- Strong working knowledge on containerization and orchestration services (Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and AWS EKS).
- Strong understanding of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) practices and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of observability into APIs and services using tools like Prometheus, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Good working knowledge on any of the cloud provider IaC tools such as Terraform (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Experience in creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
- Experience with Big Data technologies is desired.
