Job Description

To assist in planning and implementing Ocean Product strategies within the region to achieve superior financial results.

Key Accountability:

Rates Management and allocation

  • Management of fortnightly / monthly carrier rates
  • Uploading of rates into company systems
  • Procuring of rates from Ocean Carriers
  • Named Account rate support
  • Distribution of allocations to districts within South Pacific and regions
  • Maintain internal spreadsheets
  • Monitor weekly allocations and liaise with origins and destinations

Support South Pacific RFQs and sales opportunities 

  • Provide district support when needed on RFQ pricing requests
  • Win / Loss / Volume Analysis
  • Analyse and summarise data that drives recommended price for RFQ in South Asia
    • Volume opportunity
    • Tier pricing
    • Strategic pricing etc

Volume Analysis and Market Updates

  • Provide monthly analysis of volumes and revenue to districts and regional
  • Provide monthly reporting on trade statistics within the region
  • Assist with the preparation of market updates

Operational Support

  • Support South Pacific local Ocean Managers on Operational related matters.
  • Work with ocean carriers to resolve any ocean operation issues within South Pacific.
  • Support with systems access requirements as needed.

Provide support to other regional products as required.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, however equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills in both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills are critical. 
  • Proficient computer skills - solid data entry with high accuracy rate, email, Internet, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. 
  • Desire for a career in supply chain/logistics
