Job Description

  • To prepare customs clearance declarations for submission to customs in compliance with the national regulatory provisions and in adherence to the company's policies and procedures.
  • Accurately classify & value import and export products for customs clearance
  • Accurately update systems databases with appropriate information
  • Ensure shipments are cleared within specified timeframes in line with approved Key Performance Indicators
  • Liaise professionally and cordially with customers both internal and external
  • Respond to all queries in a timely manner as defined by standard operational procedure
  • Complete designated training within specified timeframes
  • Assist with transport operations, booking deliveries, billings and Accounting.
  • In addition to this, to perform tasks as requested, including, but not exclusive to, assisting in general Brokerage operations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the job to the Brokerage Manager.

Qualifications

  • Australian Customs Brokers License, or within 12 months of application.
  • Knowledge of Government Regulations
  • Standard Operational Procedures for Customs Import Operations.
  • ICS and Third Party Systems
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Accounting knowledge
  • International freight shipping terms
  • Possess elements of Expeditors Attributes and Culture
  • Embrace Expeditors Mission statement
  • General Mathematical knowledge, including but not exclusive to, dealing with  Exchange Rates, Foreign Currency and General Ledger
  • Complete understanding of the movement of Goods 
  • Road Transport Operational knowledge
