Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

 

  • Technical Skills:
  • Engage with business stakeholders and leadership to gather requirements and plan dashboards.
  • Understand, clarify, and translate visualization and reporting requirements into BI solutions.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and analytical reports.
  • Develop scalable, high performance visualizations using Tableau best practices.
  • Create and optimize data sources using SQL Server and other enterprise data systems.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data transformations.
  • Prepare reports using advanced data modeling and visualization techniques.
  • Define and enforce access controls, row level security, and governance standards.
  • Perform drill-down analyses and create accurate, insightful analytical dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data, performance, and dashboard issues.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Warehouse, and cross functional teams to ensure data readiness.
  • Mentor junior Tableau developers and perform deliverable reviews.
  • Ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement of reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
  • Functional Skills:

  • Ability to translate business needs into dashboards, KPIs, and analytical insights.
  • Experience working in Agile or project based environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

 

  • <5% Travel (% or number of days)
  • Hours (45 Hours per week, 5 days of the week)
  • Lead the end‑to‑end development of Tableau dashboards ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders for all reporting and visualization needs.
  • Ensure Tableau solutions follow best practices for performance, usability, governance, and security.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and cross‑functional teams to ensure data readiness and consistency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in dashboard design, data modeling, and reporting standards.
  • Mentor junior developers and build capability within the BI team.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, optimize performance, and ensure accuracy and reliability of dashboards.
  • Support data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
  • Adhere to project timelines and quality standards

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

 

  • 8+ years of overall professional experience.
  • 6+ years of hands‑on experience in Tableau development and BI reporting.
  • Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
  • Strong command of SQL Server, including writing complex queries, views, and stored procedures.
  • Proven experience designing and developing enterprise‑grade dashboards and visualizations.
  • Strong skills in requirement gathering, visualization design, and dashboard planning.
  • Ability to define and implement row‑level security, governance, and data access controls.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, performance optimization, and analytical reporting.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Ability to work in Agile or project‑based environments.

 

 

    Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Experience modernizing dashboards, optimizing performance, and implementing governance frameworks.
    • Exposure to ETL tools or working closely with Data Engineering teams.
    • Experience in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
    • Tableau certification (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, Tableau Certified Data Analyst) is a plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with an eye for detail.
    • Experience mentoring junior BI developers or leading small BI teams.
