We are now recruiting for a: Chief Medical Scientist / Chief Biomedical Scientist
We are currently seeking to recruit a Chief Medical Scientist / Chief Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Science team at the Eurofins Biomnis laboratory in Sandyford, Dublin18.

Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall operations of the AutoLab.
- To assist Eurofins Biomnis in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.
- Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.
- To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.
- Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.
- Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of Eurofins Biomnis.
- Lead and co-ordinate senior medical scientists, basic grade scientists, technicians and students. Ensure that the team is allocated according to their ability, education, training and patient needs and apply maximum delegation compatible with safe work practice.
- Promote open communication throughout the AutoLab.
- Manage the roster, organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the AutoLab.
- Manage the training needs within the department to ensure there is adequate staff trained in all areas of delivery of service.
- Overall responsibility for overdue and urgent work files.
- Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient and Company information.
Qualifications
Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Biomedical/Biological Sciences
Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a medical testing laboratory, with at least 3 years in a laboratory leadership role.
- Committed to laboratory accreditation with proven experience in achieving and/or maintaining accreditation to the ISO 15189 medical testing standard.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing and monitoring performance against KPIs
- Have recruited, trained and lead a team of skilled medical and administrative staff and created and effective working team.
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional development of oneself and colleagues.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to identify and implement operational processes to the standard of best practice in order to optimise use of resources.
- Proven ability to work and deliver services within agreed budgets.
- Encourages lab personnel towards professional growth and development by sharing information.
Required licences / certifications or membership (Mandatory)
- Chief Medical Scientist: CORU registration as Medical Scientist
- Chief Biomedical Scientist: HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist
