We are now recruiting for a: Senior Medical  /  Biomedical Scientist – Haematology 

We are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Medical  /  Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology team at the Eurofins Biomnis laboratory in Sandyford, Dublin18.

Working Hours: 35 hours p/w

Flexibility around shift roster is required.

Please note this is not a HYBRID role, this role will be based on site in Sandyford, Dublin 18

Summary of Main Responsibilities

• To assist Eurofins Biomnis in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.
• Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.
• To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.
• Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.
• Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of Eurofins Biomnis.
• Be responsible for organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the Haematology Department
• Be responsible for maximising the use of available resources within the service and identifying requirements to meet future needs.
• Lead and co-ordinate scientific staff and/or support staff within the department. Ensure that the team is allocated according to their ability, education, training and patient needs and apply maximum delegation compatible with safe work practice.
• Supervise and support basic grade scientists, students and auxiliary laboratory personnel.
• Manage the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the Department.
• Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient and Company information.
• Deputise for Chief Scientist in Haematology as required on technical matters.
• Participate in CPD programmes and achieve targets set by Eurofins Biomnis.

Education

Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Biomedical Science 

Experience

Bachelor Degree -At least 5 years’ experience as a Basic Grade Medical Scientist/Biomedical Scientist in Haematology  

   or       

Master Degree- At least 2 years' experience as Senior Medical Scientist/Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haematology 

Any required licences / certifications or membership

• CORU registered as Senior Medical Scientist 
• HCPC registered as Senior Biomedical Scientist
