We are looking for a hands-on Business Unit Manager to lead and develop our Asbestos Services Business Unit within Eurofins Environment Testing Belgium.
This role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and commercial responsibility, making it ideal for a driven professional ready to take the next step into full business leadership. You will be responsible for driving business performance, developing your team, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying opportunities for growth.
What team will you be part of?
You will join Eurofins Environment Testing Belgium, part of the Eurofins Scientific Group, a global leader in analytical and testing services.
The Business Unit specializes in asbestos-related services, supporting customers across Belgium with laboratory analysis, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with operational teams, field colleagues, and commercial stakeholders, the Business Unit plays an important role in helping customers maintain safe and compliant environments.
You will lead a Business Unit of approximately 25 FTE, consisting of operational teams and commercial support functions. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across operations, sales, and technical functions to deliver outstanding service and drive continued business growth.
As Business Unit Manager, you will:
- Take full ownership of the operational and financial performance of the Business Unit.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of operational and support profiles, ensuring strong engagement and performance.
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities and supporting commercial activities.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, handling discussions and building long-term relationships.
- Monitor and steer KPIs, targets, and performance metrics in a structured and data-driven way.
- Optimize processes, planning, and resource allocation to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to unlock synergies and support broader business objectives.
- Contribute to budgeting and business planning, with exposure to (and development in) P&L management.
- Foster a results-oriented culture, focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

Your profile includes:
- Experience in an operational leadership role (e.g. operations, production, logistics, manufacturing, or similar).
- A hands-on approach and ability to manage teams in a dynamic, multi-site or field-based environment.
- Interest in or initial exposure to commercial activities; comfortable engaging with customers.
- Understanding of business performance metrics (KPIs, revenue, margins); experience with P&L is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience of Operational Excellence; application of LEAN
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; comfortable working with numbers and targets.
- A results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
Education:
- Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, or a related field (flexible).
Languages:
- Dutch (mandatory)
- French and English are a plus
