Job Description

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

This is a full time, permanent position. Shift work is required for this role. Working an 11 hour shift, 08:00 – 20:00 on a biweekly rotating shift pattern, which is: Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday.

As a Trainee Microbiology Analyst you will serve as a member of the Eurofins PSS QCL group within the client environment to support their technical and analytical tasks, to work to the highest standards in terms of quality and professionalism.

Job Responsibilities that you be covering:

  • You will perform routine and non-routine microbiological analysis, prepare and approve test results within your competency level, complete QC activities, and immediately escalate any anomalous or out-of-specification results in line with Eurofins and customer requirements.
  • You will maintain accurate, up-to-date laboratory documentation, training records, and quality records, ensuring all work is completed Right First Time and in compliance with relevant quality standards and procedures.
  • You will actively participate in training programmes, keep your technical knowledge current with method and technology updates, and support the development of junior colleagues through training and knowledge sharing where appropriate.
  • You will deliver excellent customer service by understanding customer requirements, responding to queries within your area of expertise, escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring all decisions support customer service goals and expectations.
  • You will support laboratory operations through second-person verification activities, consumables processing, SOP and documentation updates, investigation support, and providing cover for colleagues, including weekend rota and overtime requirements as needed.
  • You will uphold the highest standards of safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement, maintaining a clean laboratory environment, ensuring reliable and reproducible working practices, and contributing to initiatives that enhance service quality and operational performance across Eurofins.

Qualifications

What skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as an Trainee EM Analyst:

  • You will have experience working within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of quality standards, compliance requirements, and laboratory best practices.
  • You will have excellent organisational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You will have strong documentation and record-keeping skills, ensuring all laboratory and quality records are completed accurately and to the standards expected by Eurofins and its customers.
  • You will be a collaborative team player who builds positive working relationships and contributes effectively to achieving departmental and customer objectives.
  • You will have the flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing business needs, workloads, and priorities within a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • You will have a passion for quality and customer service, together with excellent communication skills that enable you to engage professionally and effectively with colleagues, customers, and key stakeholders.
