Lextox are a UKAS accredited laboratory based in Cardiff, providing drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings.
Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst to join our Laboratory team at Lextox, on a full time and permanent basis. Applicants are expected to have knowledge of ISO17025 and have previous experience of working in a laboratory setting.
The Role:
- Performing hair sample sectioning.
- Preparing sample batches for analysis.
- Performing analysis of laboratory samples for alcohol, and drugs of abuse.
- Adhering to Lextox Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately completing laboratory documentation.
- Performing routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to maintain quality standards.
- Upholding the confidentiality of the information obtained in the course of analysing samples within the lab, and refrain from disclosing such information without written consent, except where disclosure is required by law or by a court order.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified at a Degree level – Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry or a relevant scientific discipline.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong attention to detail.
- A strong focus on service and quality with good problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Previous laboratory experience in Toxicology or similar industry (preferrable hair testing lab)
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies and accreditations.
- Previous experience with Quality Management Systems.
