Job Description
We are hiring an ATE Operations Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems, infrastructure, and customer configurations within the test floor environment. This role combines hands-on engineering support, data management, and system ownership to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable test operations.
Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite). Relocation assistance is not provided for this role; candidates should be able to commute to the work location.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain all ATE test floor software.
- Maintain all ATE test floor equipment and customer configurations.
- Partner with ATE suppliers and monitor power usage.
- Own ATE test floor IT infrastructure including servers and updates.
- Manage customer data lifecycle and post-production analysis.
- Develop scripts to improve data processing efficiency.
- Complete and support customer test setups and releases to production.
- Provide application-level testing support (debugging, calibration).
- Train and support operators running complex setups.
- Develop utilization KPIs and engineering reports.
- Monitor and present monthly utilization metrics.
- Cross-train on handler and prober maintenance.
- Train technicians on standards and configurations.

What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant ATE or semiconductor test experience.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of ATE systems and test environments.
- Experience with data analysis and scripting (Python, MATLAB or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software.
- Applies engineering principles to analyze problems, map systems, and develop effective solutions
- Communicates complex information clearly and adapts messaging to the audience
- Actively listens, responds constructively, and stays composed under pressure
- Delivers solutions that meet customer expectations and builds strong working relationships
- Takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and balances multiple priorities
- Maintains high standards of quality, accuracy, and adherence to procedures
- Shows initiative, stays organized, and works independently to complete tasks
- Analyzes data, executes testing, and supports technical work while helping train others
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Teradyne, Advantest, or similar ATE platforms.
- Semiconductor device testing or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- SQL, large data sets, and automated reporting tools.
- Experience improving test floor efficiency and utilization.
- Cross-functional work with Application Engineering and Operations.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
- Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
- Ability to handle small and fragile devices with tweezers and /or fingers.
- Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.)
- Must be willing and able to wear PPE such as hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, laboratory coat and/or any other devices or equipment that is required.
- Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
- Ability to move equipment or items up to 50 lbs.
