Job Description
In a nutshell
We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Manager to provide independent quality assurance, validation governance and compliance oversight for our Eurofins Quality Management System — eQMS, a GxP-regulated, custom-built enterprise application.
This role will ensure that software development, testing, release and validation activities are performed in line with Eurofins Quality Policies, SDLC standards and regulatory expectations, including GxP and GAMP5.
You will also play a key role in driving modern software quality engineering practices, with a strong focus on test automation, continuous testing and scalable validation approaches within DevOps environments.
Where will you be based and what business will you support?
You will be part of Eurofins GSC IT Solutions, supporting the Pharma business line.
This is a role with global scope and visibility, working closely with Product Management, Application Management, Development, DevOps, Validation and Business Quality teams.
How can you help us?
As Software Quality Assurance Manager, you will act as the independent quality authority for eQMS software releases, ensuring that quality, compliance and validation requirements are embedded across the full software lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Owning and maintaining the software quality assurance framework for the eQMS application.
- Defining and enforcing quality gates across SDLC phases, including requirements, design, build, testing and release.
- Reviewing and approving key documentation such as user requirements, functional and technical specifications, test plans, protocols, summary reports, release candidates and deployment documentation.
- Ensuring end-to-end traceability between requirements, testing, release and validation evidence.
- Overseeing Computer System Validation activities, including validation plans, risk-based impact assessments, IQ/OQ/PQ activities where applicable, and validation summary reports.
- Ensuring change management is applied consistently across functional, technical and configuration changes.
- Reviewing change impact assessments, regression testing scope, deviations and quality risk acceptances.
- Providing formal QA release approval for production deployments.
- Supporting audits and regulatory inspections as the QA representative.
- Ensuring software quality and validation documentation remains current, approved and audit-ready.
- Driving continuous improvement through quality metrics, trend analysis, audit findings, CAPA follow-up and lessons learned.
A key part of the role will also be to define and drive the test automation strategy for the eQMS platform. You will help move the organization towards automation-first testing approaches, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and embedding shift-left quality practices across the lifecycle.
Qualifications
You will ideally bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Life Sciences or an equivalent field.
- Extensive experience in Application Testing or Software Quality Assurance within regulated GxP environments.
- Proven experience with custom-built, enterprise-scale applications.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC quality controls and validation principles.
- Practical experience with GAMP5 and risk-based validation.
- Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools, including UI/API automation and test orchestration platforms.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles applied to quality assurance, including test design, code maintainability and version control.
Are you our kind of extraordinary?
You are someone who combines strong quality judgement with technical credibility. You are comfortable operating independently, challenging when needed and providing clear guidance in complex, regulated environments.
You enjoy working in a global and matrixed organization, partnering with technical teams, product teams and quality stakeholders to ensure software is compliant, reliable and audit-ready.
You are rigorous, analytical and proactive, but also pragmatic. You know how to balance compliance expectations with the need for scalable, efficient and modern software delivery.
You’ll also bring:
- The ability to operate as an independent QA authority in a global IT organization.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to escalate compliance risks clearly to IT and Quality leadership.
- High autonomy, accountability and professional judgement.
- The ability to lead quality and automation initiatives at enterprise scale.
- Confidence working with Product, Development, DevOps, Validation and Business Quality teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify lessons learned and translate them into better quality practices.
- Strong technical leadership in software quality engineering and test automation, without direct responsibility for software development delivery.
