Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Project Accounting Manager to join our Finance function on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.

You will be involved in the preparation of testing and reporting of Migrated Policies from one insurance platform to another and Consolidation for submission to the FP&A team and Statutory Accounts as required, including working with the Senior Financial Reporting Manager to identify regulatory and statutory changes. Your role will be to continuously work on improvement and embedding of new changes into current Financial Reporting Processes including assisting with any communication to the business of the potential impact and required changes.

What will my role entail?

  • Build processes and controls for the timely preparation of complete and accurate reporting for migrated policies as required by the Group’s regulatory industry bodies and reporting requirements
  • Working closely with the Financial Reporting Team to assist with transition of IFRS17 to BAU reporting basis and hence the timely and accurate completion of the Consolidation and reporting, including design, update and maintenance of processes and documentation.
  • Analysis of the results and output from the completed IFRS17 reporting templates to assist the Senior Financial Reporting Manager with the preparation of the commentary for the FP&A team.
  • Work with the Financial Reporting team to assist in the preparation of financial and management reporting for the esure Group of companies, including update of the General Ledger with a particular focus on IFRS17.
  • Working with the Senior Financial Reporting Manager to understand and implement IFRS17 changes as they impact the ABI, ONS, PRA and other regulatory reporting returns. Work with the Group Financial Controller to communicate the required changes to Executive and Board level.
  • As directed by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager or other members of the Senior Finance Management Team, assist in the production of any ad hoc financial reporting and analysis

Qualifications

You are a good fit for the role if you have the following…

  • A qualified accountant with significant experience in an insurance financial accounting role.
  • A good understanding of accounting and reporting within the General Insurance industry particularly
  • Experience and understanding of IFRS17
  • Experience and understanding of Group Reporting including Consolidation

  • Advanced computer skills desirable, particularly Microsoft Excel, familiarity with Reporting software and general ledger packages, preferably Oracle
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to interpret regulatory and statutory regulations
  • Strong problem solving abilities
