Job Description

esure has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Pricing Manager (Forecasting and Contribution) to join our head office in Reigate. This is a full time, permanent position.

Reporting to the Head of Motor Portfolio Pricing, the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting the profitability of the Motor Account and recommend appropriate actions. Pricing lead for re-insurance tenders

The Day to Day

  • Delivery and presentation of regular contribution reporting and loss ratio forecasts for the Motor Account.
  • Co-ordinate and ensuring inputs from across the company are updated on a regular basis, to include but not limited to: claims inflation, expenses.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any changes in claims trends, risk mix and legislation are accurately reflected in forecasts.
  • Business lead for pricing team input to the business planning cycle, working closely with the Finance, Actuarial and Underwriting teams on the key underwriting volume, premium and loss ratio drivers within the business plans and forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Actuarial department to ensure that an accurate forecast of loss ratios is used in the Premium Provision for Solvency II capital requirements.
  • Pricing lead for reinsurance tenders
  • Recommending appropriate actions to support the profitability of the Motor Account.
  • Use technical expertise and knowledge of best practice to translate business objectives and stakeholder requirements into specific pricing activities and projects.
  • Technical expertise to ensure team is trained in best practice and delivers their work to a high standard.
  • This role has direct line management responsibility and is responsible for ensuring the professional development of various roles within the team.
  • Perform timely reviews with a strong desire to develop and motivate people in an empowering way.

Qualifications

We’d Love You to Bring

  • Strong analytical and interpretation skills underpinned by a numeric degree level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Substantial experience in delivering statistical models, e.g. GLMs, GBMs or other relevant techniques
  • Good understanding of reserving
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
  • Stakeholder management
  • Excellent data manipulation skills.
  • Strong governance awareness to make sure models implemented fully adhere to regulatory and far value measures.

We’d also like to hear if you have…

  • Experience of WTW software, Radar and Emblem in particular
  • Experience in SAS, SQL or Python
  • Other relevant qualifications or experience, e.g., in Data Science
