Colleague Communication Lead

  • Full-time
  • Working Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Salary: Competitive
  • Department: HR

Company Description

We’re one of the UK’s leading insurers, protecting around 2.5 million people in their homes and on the roads. Our journey started back in 2000 – a small company with a revolutionary idea to sell insurance direct through our esure and Sheilas’ Wheels brands. We’ve grown a lot since then, but we’ve held onto that pioneering spirit every step of the way.

Now, we’re onto the next part of our game-changing story. We’re giving our customers a world-class digital experience, together with a human touch when it’s needed most. And we’re working hard to be a real force for good in the world, too! It’s so we can fix insurance for good and help our customers lead fuller lives.

Our colleagues are the driving force behind it all (they’re our superpowers!). It’s our role in the Communication & Engagement team to make sure they feel informed, involved, and inspired, so they can ace what matters most for our customers every single day. This is especially important as we lead colleagues through the next phase of our business transformation to become a world-class digital insurer.

Job Description

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Colleague Communication Lead to join our team on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2023.

You’ll galvanise colleagues behind our business strategy (The Game Changer), so everyone across the business is clear on the direction we’re heading in and the important role they play. It’s a varied and exciting role that’ll see you:

  • Developing communication plans that improve colleague engagement and drive great business outcomes
  • Transforming strategic messages into compelling narratives that inspire and motivate our people
  • Creating colleague events and experiences that bring The Game Changer to life
  • Supporting leaders to become effective communicators and engage their teams
  • Being the driving force behind our core communication channels, including the delivery of a brand-new digital workplace

Qualifications

  • Digital savvy with the know-how to maximise channels like Poppulo, social networks, intranets, and Microsoft 365 products.
  • A love for producing events and experiences that ‘wow’ (online and in-person).
  • A creative thinker, who enjoys pushing boundaries to solve complex communication challenges.
  • A great influencer, who builds trusted relationships at all levels.
  • A passion for turning strategic messages into compelling narratives and campaigns that diverse audiences can get behind.
  • A proud ‘grammar geek’ with excellent copywriting skills and the ability to adapt your written style for various audiences.
  • Analytical thinking with a love of digging behind the data to produce best-in-class communications.
  • A team player, who gets stuck in to help others out and enjoys coaching other members of the team.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work best when juggling multiple priorities.

Everyone brings something special, so don’t worry if you don’t meet all the requirements for this role. If there’s something you haven’t done yet, it’s likely you can learn it here (and bring a fresh perspective while you’re at it!). Just come ready to learn, get stuck in, and share your unique skills.
