Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an Application Support Engineer on a 12 month fixed term contract! As part of the Business Application Support team you will support the core policy and claims Insurance platform and batch processing system.

What you will do:

  • Resolve incidents and problems and provide appropriate timely escalations to ensure minimum customer impact
  • Define, develop and deploy system monitoring requirements. Improve the system reliability via predictive analysis
  • Design, develop, deploy, and improve automation to optimally manage the platform infrastructure.
  • Define, optimise and support batch schedules and job execution
  • Working with end users, business and product owners, SRE, DevOps and DBA teams to resolve incidents and improve processes.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • In depth knowledge of PLSQL and SQL.
  • Comfortably operate in a Unix environment with understanding of shell scripts.
  • Experience providing Production Operations support (in a 24x7x365 web based and contact centre environment is useful)
  • Skilled in diagnosing and solving complex problems and providing detailed technical analysis

Any experience with the following technologies is a bonus:

 

  • Experience with Batch Processing tools, preferably Tivoli Workload Scheduler
  • Good understanding of CI/CD tools and processes including GIT and Jenkins
  • Experience or exposure to additional coding tools such as Apex
  • Exposure with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambdas, Terraform)
