Job Description

Esure has a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll/HR Services Assistant to join our HR Shared Services team. This is a job share role based in our Glasgow city centre office with hybrid working options available. You will be contracted to working Wednesday to Friday, hours of work to be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.

You will deliver an efficient and effective HR support and advisory service to departments within the business by providing first line contact on all people related issues consistent with internal processes, regulatory and legal requirements.

What will my role entail?

  • Provide first line generalist HR advice and support on terms and conditions of employment and HR policies and procedures with a view to resolving first time
  • Maintain HR systems and processes
  • Attend informal/formal meetings and hearings with the ER Specialists ensuring all paperwork is accurate and take notes as required
  • Provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to leaders
  • Provide management information from HR systems in a timely and accurate way
  • Contribute to the review and development of HR policies and procedures
  • Perform timely and accurate preparation of monthly payroll files to the payroll provider, maintaining deadlines and SLAs
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliations of payroll data ensuring accuracy of all changes
  • Liaise with the payroll provider on behalf of colleagues and other 3rd parties regarding payroll related requests
  • Ensure adherence to Data Protection requirements with regards to security and confidentiality of personal data
  • Respond to all queries in the shared mailbox within SLA and with a view to ‘right first time’
  • Administer all benefits applications ensuring accuracy and consistency between HR, payroll and benefit providers

Qualifications

This role will require…

  • Experience of working in an HR Shared Service team
  • Sound knowledge of payroll legislation and practice
  • A pro-active approach to work and problem solving with the ability to spot and deal with issues as they occur
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working on own initiative
  • Excellent active listening and presentation/communication skills

  • Strong IT skills
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Qualification in HR or related field
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Numerate, and has the ability to process and analyse data is essential
