Job Description

We have a great new opportunity for an Operational Risk Manager to join our Risk function on a permanent basis! The successful role holder will provide second line oversight of operational risks within esure and ensure the risk management framework is successfully embedded.

Helping business teams to identify, document and effectively handle their key risks and controls, the Operational Risk Manager will provide objective advice and challenge of risks and issues to the business. You'll help resolve issues impacting customers or esure’s resilient and ensure that key risk processes are understood and followed.

The day to day:

You will provide 2nd Line of Defence risk oversight and challenge for the business areas being supported. Calling out key risks and issues to ensure actions and root cause analysis are completed, you'll providing guidance on identifying and managing key risks, controls, metrics and issues. We also require the role holder to provide input to Committee reporting.

You will continually oversee the Enterprise Risk Framework, ensuring that it is current and fit for purpose and conduct 2nd line control assessments, collaborating closely with internal audit on 3rd line oversight.

Maintaining the integrity of the data on the Group Risk and Compliance System, you will undertake investigations and produce specific reports on risk/control issues arising across the business.

You will offer valuable support on projects within the business areas, in addition to acting as the "Expert Administrator" of the Xactium Risk System.

Qualifications

We would love you to bring:

  • Previous experience in a risk, compliance, assurance or audit role and a good understanding of the Financial Services industry
  • Understanding of cyber security and IT concepts such as networks, vulnerabilities, types of cyber- attacks, data security
  • Experience working in transformation or continual improvement programmes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the confidence to present to a varied audience, up to management level
  • The ability to build positive relationships and a strong analytical approach and attention to detail
  • We are looking for someone who is curious, is willing to roll up their sleeves and take action! We want you to think in an unexpected way and push boundaries to get the best results
  • Project management and agile experience would be helpful
