Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Live Hire Monitor for our Claims department in Glasgow. This is a full-time permanent position.

The Live Hire Monitor will be responsible for dealing with claims where hire is identified on claims. The purpose of the role is to reduce Hire costs by liaising with garages and our in-house engineering team.  

The role is primarily concerned with dealing with a variety of repairers and organisations to get updates on the progress of third-party repairs or total loss via the telephone/writing as well as using the verify portal to liaise with applicable credit hire organisations. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing a daily allocation of live hire claims to ensure repairs are progressing on time and any delays are challenged to mitigate spend.
  • Working across a combination of internal systems
  • Calling repairers, credit hire companies and other third-party representatives to get repair updates.
  • Using problem solving skills to overcome any delays where applicable by referring to our own experts and engineering department, where required.
  • Escalating claims that hit certain hire durations so handlers can review and intervene to progress.
  • Issuing total loss payments promptly and updating MIAFTR (our total loss record claims system).
  • Processing bordereaux payments received from Credit Hire companies.
  • Managing incoming post from verify to ensure any engineers reports are sent for approval and paid efficiently.
  • Management of a centralised mailbox for any enquiries relating to ongoing hire or settlements. 

Qualifications

  • An understanding of the claims journey post notification, however not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Strong negotiation skills and work well within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative to overcome objections.

Additional Information

Hours - Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm

Salary - up to £19,308 plus up to 5% annual bonus
