Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Applications Support Developer on a 12 month fixed term contract basis!

You will run the functional support of Oracle Financials and the functional and technical design of our E-Business platform, as well as it’s interfaces from the Oracle based call centre application (TIA & EIS). Working closely with the IT function you will lead all aspects of the successful build and delivery of those changes into testing, followed by ongoing support of testing and the delivery into production.

What you will do:

  • Day to Day functional support of Oracle Financials modules including (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Cash Management, Purchasing, FAH)
  • Provide ongoing support and development of the Oracle Financials platform, Oracle Discoverer & Excel4Apps to enable all areas of Finance
  • Proactively lead and shape the analysis, definition and planning of business requirements for the implementation of Oracle based solutions to develop and increase the usage of the Oracle Financials platform
  • Work alongside IT Support, creating new users, administering access rights & licenses
  • Test solutions ensuring outputs reflect the planned business requirements
  • Work with the Finance Systems & Operations Manager to undertake a review of all current processes, systems and controls to identify any potential improvements that could be made
  • Functional and technical problem investigation and resolution (including PLSQL, SQL, Discoverer, Oracle Workflow, Excel4Apps)
  • Produce month end and year end journals required for Oracle monthly data-fixes and extracts required for Financial Reporting.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience of Financial accounting processes and procedures
  • Functional & technical knowledge of Oracle Financials applications and the processes they support is crucial
  • Experience of Excel4Apps, particularly report design and maintenance
  • Interface design & understanding of Oracle Apps data structures particularly Receivables, Payables, Cash Management, General Ledger journal and external systems using Oracle Apps open interfaces and APIs.
  • Extensive experience of building sophisticated PL/SQL modules in large Oracle environments.
  • Experience in writing UNIX shell scripts.
  • Ongoing experience of producing functional and technical specifications for complex applications and component designs.
