Job Description

We have a fantastic Actuarial Analyst role within our Reigate based team. You'll be playing a pivotal role in supporting reserving to bring business insight and regulatory accountability as esure undergoes its exciting digital transformation.

The day to day:

Our reserve reviews underpin esure’s booked claims reserves. We immerse ourselves in the business to understand the drivers and uncertainties behind claims emergence, working with colleagues in Claims, Pricing, Planning and Capital Management.

Our Actuarial Analysts get involved in all areas of reserving, undertaking reserve reviews across the Motor and Home portfolios and communicating results.

Carrying out data manipulation using SQL and in future Python to help investigate emerging trends and explain drivers of results, you'll also develop processes and methodology to improve the efficiency, accuracy and communication of results.

This role requires building effective relationships with other teams to bring actuarial insight to the forefront of business decision-making with the aim of demonstrably improving business performance.

You will also need to adhere to appropriate regulatory and governance frameworks, including developing our response to IFRS 17 legislation and producing technical reserves under Solvency II.

Qualifications

  • A degree with substantial mathematical/statistical content and a desire to work towards an actuarial qualification
  • Analytical capability coupled with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply
  • Motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude and lots of enthusiasm
  • Team player with open communication when working with others
