Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Strategy Manager to lead strategy, M&A and market intelligence on behalf of the esure’s Executive Team and senior leadership! You will work within a small impactful team with 1 direct report.

The Day to Day:

Framing and solving the most significant, strategic problems facing esure and the UK personal lines industry more broadly.

Gather and build relevant market understanding. Analysing Competitive, Regulatory, Market and Technological trends that may have an impact on our business model/propositions

Crafting clear, simple frameworks that help the Executive and leadership team assess different strategic options

Driving out recommendations, and orchestrating the underlying analysis

Engaging senior partners across the business to develop strategies in response

Leading esure’s M&A and corporate venturing agenda

Managing a pipeline of potential partnerships

Assessing and recommending potential M&A plays

Managing esure’s corporate investments

Orchestrating esure’s market intelligence assets and insight

Supporting business modelling & analysis to inform strategic decision making, identifying high-quality long-term growth opportunities

Coaching and developing Analysts, driving a culture of dedication and quality, in a fast paced, large-scale agile environment

Support the growth of the team within the organisation to its target operating state.

Qualifications

We'd love you to bring:

  • Solid experience in strategy – either a premier tier Strategy consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain or Oliver Wyman) or in-house
  • Sector expertise in UK, US or European retail financial services
  • Experience in conducting large-scale digital- and data-led transformations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to scope, structure, and solve strategic challenges
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at an Executive & Board level
  • Proven track record to communicate & influence partners at all levels including Executive by turning granular detail and research into insight and action
  • Highly numerate and excellent at demonstrating facts and insights to generate and validate strategic hypotheses
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to organise and lead own workstreams end-to-end, from fact-finding and analysis to communication and partner management
  • Resilience to dynamic environments and partners
