Job Description

Purpose of Role:

Lead the development and delivery of analytical decision making solutions that deliver material improvements in indemnity and operational expenditure

Day to Day:

  • Accountable for developing and embedding data and analytical models to support claims processes (incl. automated processes) on the new platform, delivering material improvement in operational efficiency and indemnity control
  • Work with Claims Leadership (including the Intelligent Automation Lead) to define and prioritise advanced analytics use cases
  • Work with external ecosystem providers to integrate third party solutions (as appropriate) within the business
  • Work closely with product squads, data engineering, operations and change teams to sustainably embed analytical models into BAU
  • Oversee the continued performance of analytical models, updating and refining them as needed
  • Build and lead a capable and effective team of Data Led Decisioning professionals
  • Lead the development of on the job training, approaches and tools that strengthen the capability and organisation of the team
  • Build a culture of effective risk management within the team

Qualifications

We'd love you to bring:

  • Strong experience in working in a data science team within a transforming organisation
  • Proven experience leading analytical teams with demonstrable commercial success
  • Pragmatic, strategic individual who is able to structure and prioritise analytics use case development
  • Experience of solving complex, commercially significant analytical problems, involving large, imperfect data sets and sources, in similar industries (e.g. fin. services) with material results
  • Proven ability to deliver solutions that are scalable and work in an operational environment
  • Excellent knowledge of data science tools and languages, including, ML, R, Python coding, SQL and production tools (must have)
  • Experienced leader with strong team building and management capabilities
  • Track record of articulating direction, managing partners, guiding teams and driving a portfolio of projects to deliver tangible results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with ability to collaborate across diverse teams
