Job Description

Purpose of Role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Specialist to work within our progressive team

Day to Day:

  • Assist with cataloguing Data assets across the business and external business partners
  • Review & handle access control requests to protected Data sets and data classifications
  • Implement Data quality metric rules against Data assets and routine management of Data Governance Applications
  • Collaborate with Data stewards across the business to perform continuous risk assessments against Data stores and purpose of use
  • Acting as one of the central points of contact within the business for Data governance as well as promoting Data democratization with alignment to Data governance
  • Engage with Data (engineers, scientists, stewards) and work closely with Privacy and Security practitioners
  • Produce reports / metrics on status of data protection and proactively promote / run data governance awareness campaigns throughout the business

Qualifications

We'd Love You to Bring:

  • Significant Data management experience
  • Experience of working with a variety of business partners
  • Solid grasp of Data life cycle
  • Data Mapping/Lineage & Quality strategies

Essential:

  • Solid background of Data Governance and Data Quality concepts
  • Knowledge of IT systems, processes, and information security practices
  • Experience of working closely with privacy practitioners and security teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb attention to detail

Bonus points

  • (Bachelor’s degree) BA or BS
  • IAPP CIP/T
  • Awareness of Data Privacy Impact assessments
  • Experience of Data lineage in a Digitally enabled businesses
