esure has a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Crime Manager,

Working as part of a broader Risk and Compliance Team, the Financial Crime Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and communication of financial crime and associated governance framework and policy, ensuring these operate efficiently.  Lead the 2nd line of defence for financial crime ensuring effective and efficient oversight of first line controls concerning anti-money laundering, financial sanctions and terrorist financing (as applicable to general insurance) and broader delivery of risk mitigation and control maturity assessment of fraud and financial crime across the organisation

Responsibilities

  • Design and leading the ongoing evolution of the overall financial crime framework to evidence delivery against FCA Financial Crime prescribed responsibility

  • ·       Define and maintain a robust compliance and conduct risk framework, ensuring efficient and effective identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation and reporting of
  • nd oversight and challenge to ensure the effectiveness of the organisation’s financial crime risk management and compliance arrangements.
  • ·       Provide subject matter expertise to the business on regulatory developments including regulatory horizon scanning, to ensure that the organisation’s strategy is alert to future regulatory change and direction, and that key risks are identified and monitored.
  • ·       Leading engagement with all business areas and committees to review / challenge business unit assessment on financial crime risks and mitigating controls Delivery of key projects to identify and close critical gaps or vulnerabilities in all areas of fraud and financial crime (where not directly concerning customer or claimant insurance fraud)
  • ·       Establish analytics, assessment and reporting methodologies to bring together data, information, risk indicators, trends and upstream risks across the customer and conduct functions, providing senior management with an holistic view of the financial crime universe.
  • ·       Develop and manage the day-to-day relationship with the regulators, notably the FCA, building mutual confidence and respect by fostering an open and constructive relationship through a structured and well managed programme of engagement.

Qualifications

·       Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant professional qualification.

·       Experience in a similar Financial Crime role gained within Financial Services, preferably in the Insurance sector.

·       Expert knowledge of the FCA expectations relating to financial crime, JMLSG guidance and relevant financial crime legislation.

·       Excellent analytical ability and detail focus.

·       Good communication skills, including strong report writing skills and presentation abilities.

·       Developed influencing and negotiation skills.

·       Resilience, tenacity and ability to provide effective challenge.
