Job Description

The Divisional Controller / Finance Director will be the finance lead of the ADAMAS Consulting division of the Ergomed Group. 

The position will involve ownership of the ADAMAS monthly financials and ensure the accurate and timely close of the Divisions results including:

  • Presenting the ADAMAS monthly financials to the Group CFO, providing detailed commentary on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Representing ADAMAS on monthly operational performance calls and will support the operational team with financial data, KPIs and analytics.
  • Leading the development of the ADAMAS annual budget and periodic forecasts (quarterly) and will liaise closely with the Group Finance team.
  • Supporting the ADAMAS CEO on commercial activities and ensuring they are kept up to date on financial performance.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Monthly reporting and financial control

  • Oversee ADAMAS month end submissions in group reporting software
  • Review and analyse the monthly performance, balance sheet and cash flows
  • Prepare variance analysis, commentary and feed into month end reporting packs to the Executive management team and Permira
  • Maintain the ADAMAS orderbook and prepare various analysis of wins, renewals, cancellations, change orders, book-to-bill ratio and burn rates
  • Review payroll, consultant spend and other direct costs to ensure proper financial control of costs
  • Analyse revenue to ensure it is correctly recorded in line with Group Accounting Policy and GAAP
  • Maintain good financial control over working capital to ensure positive cash generation throughout the year
  • Oversee the preparation of GAAP compliant financial statements for ADAMAS subsidiaries and ensure a smooth Audit process with the Group’s external auditors

Budget and forecasting

  • Manage the preparation of the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for ADAMAS
  • Present and defend the ADAMAS budget and forecasts to the Executive team and prepare supporting analysis
  • Prepare monthly departmental variance analysis against budget/forecast and resolve variances with department heads
  • Analyse individual project performance and support project team with analysis to enable critical decision making

Other Responsibilities

  • Manage the career development of the ADAMAS finance team
  • Support in the preparation of ad hoc financial analysis required by the Executive Team and Permira
  • Support the ADAMAS CEO with financial analysis and commercial thinking
  • Manage and support the activities around the post-acquisition integration of companies
  • Lead process improvements and operational efficiency projects

In addition to being the finance lead for ADAMAS, the position will also be involved in Group Finance activities supporting the Group Financial Controller and Group Head of FP&A in various Group wide projects including acquisition integrations, new process implementations, financial analysis and ad hoc finance projects from time to time.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be someone with experience working in clinical services or Pharma/Biotech and strong finance background. The candidate should have good knowledge of a monthly close process and a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting. The candidate should be a leader and a team player who can successfully manage/lead a team and collaborate with various other groups within the wider Company.

  • Accounting qualification with significant finance experience
  • Background in a services based industry, ideally Pharmaceutical/Biotech
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Accounting and financial control experience
  • Some knowledge of IFRS or GAAP statutory accounts
  • Experience in managing a team
