Job Description

Director of Operations | Epworth Healthy Living | Fulltime (Fixed Term 3 years)

Lead the future of preventative health and wellbeing at Epworth.

Epworth is opening an exciting new chapter with the launch of Epworth Healthy Living, a premium health, wellbeing and preventative care service designed to help people live well through every stage of life. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director of Operations to lead the establishment and ongoing success of this innovative service, based in Richmond and working across Epworth locations.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Continuing Care and Support Services, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of service delivery, workforce management, financial performance, governance, quality, safety and customer experience. You will partner closely with clinicians, medical specialists and executive leaders to deliver a high-performing, patient-centred service that supports Epworth's vision of exceptional care for life.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the operational establishment and growth of Epworth Healthy Living.
  • Deliver strategic and operational plans that drive sustainable growth and service excellence.
  • Oversee financial performance, workforce planning, governance and risk management.
  • Foster strong partnerships with medical specialists, clinicians, executives and community stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and service redesign initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, quality and exceptional customer experience.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators across operational, financial and quality domains.

Qualifications

About You

You are an accomplished healthcare operations leader with demonstrated success delivering strategic growth, operational performance and service excellence within complex health environments. A confident and influential relationship builder, you can engage effectively with executives, medical specialists, clinicians and external partners to achieve shared outcomes. Combining strong commercial leadership with a commitment to quality and innovation, you have the capability to establish and grow services, lead transformational change and create a culture where people thrive.

You are motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of preventative health and wellbeing and contribute to an organisation dedicated to exceptional care for life.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in healthcare operations, practice management or health service administration.
  • Current registration with AHPRA 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a health or health-related discipline.
  • Strong commercial, financial and resource management capability.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving high performance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Experience implementing new technology and clinical applications.
  • A strong understanding of quality, governance and regulatory requirements within healthcare.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a health or health-related discipline.
  • Experience in corporate health, wellbeing, preventative health or premium healthcare services will be highly regarded.
  • Relevant postgraduate leadership/management qualifications preferred
