Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: To maintain ZERO HARM at work area by executing best practices in site activities, training programs to develop the site team, maintain Good relationships and engagement of all functional leaders in safety and to coordinate with customer for safety related matters.

DIMENSIONS

EHS :

  • Respect all safety rules as per HARSCO standards and work should be as per Procedures.
  • Must obey the customer and Harsco safety rules and policies
  • Ensure Participation from maximum number of site team (include customer) in all safety event.
  • Safety improvement programs at site for the employees & direct workers
  • Annual EHS training and Audit matrix for the site operations.
  • Shouldn’t allow anyone to work unsafe manner 
  • Ensure to know the all aspects and impacts of your workplace prior to each task and to protect environment as per company standard.
  • Ensure to execute all best practices at work by provide training.
  • Adequate training for EHS and Job specific training to the direct workers.

Financial:

  • Optimization the expenses at site by ensure all safety practices
  • Annual budget plan preparation and must execute within the allotted budget while ensuring safety at site.

Non-Financial:

  • ZERO harm goal
  • Annual EHS Training matrix and audit matrix

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Facilitate in establishing Safety and Health requirements at workplace.
  • Ensure implementation of EHS Management system/Harsco’s Global EHS Frame work guidelines.
  • Guide HSE policy, performance standards and criteria in consultation with management
  • Monitor and report EHS performance
  • Develop, implement and support EHS improvement strategies
  • Provide professional support and expert advice in relevant areas
  • Conduct/arrange EHS educational, training and support programs
  • Conduct EHS inspections/Audit and report to Management.
  • Identify, analyse and report potential EHS difficulties to management
  • Maintain an excellent information resource in EHS and produce effective statistical information
  • EHS performance reporting - internal and external
  • Ensure incident reporting and investigation of incidents 
  • Support to Conduct Risk Assessment for activities undertaken at site.
  • Monitor compliance of EHS legal requirements and advise management.
  • Advise on and plan for changes to legislation and external standards
  • Organize EHS promotional activities to promote EHS culture.

 

Qualifications

Context of the Job:

Safety officer must train the people to ensure safe work at site. Monitoring all activities, Risk assessment for all workers.

  • Safety office can take decision for PPE requisition
  • Training for the site team
  • Statutory compliance report.
  • Internal audits at site

Areas where recommendations are made to Superiors for Decision Making:

  • If any changes in the quality of PPE
  • External audits
