Job Description

Must be based within a 30-minute commuting distance of one of the two markets within remit. Role requires travel up to 25%.

The Channel Intelligence Manager is responsible for driving strategic insight generation and commercial intelligence across the on-premise channel for a premium spirits portfolio. This role will lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market intelligence related to customer programming, competitive activity, consumer engagement trends, and trade dynamics to help shape commercial strategy and execution in (2) designated markets.

Reporting to the Channel Intelligence Director, the Channel Intelligence Manager will oversee two Advocacy Leads and serve as a critical bridge between field intelligence, customer engagement, brand advocacy, and commercial decision-making. The role requires a strong understanding of the hospitality landscape, supplier programming, and the evolving on-premise environment, with the ability to translate observations into actionable recommendations that improve competitive positioning and portfolio performance.

Core Responsibilities/Activities:

Legal and Compliance Accountability. Maintain all legal and marketing code guidelines 

Channel and Competitive Intelligence

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the client’s in-market programming, activations, menu placements, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess competitor supplier activity, including programming strategies, promotional tactics, sponsorships, incentives, menu visibility, pricing activity, and trade engagement.
  • Identify emerging trends in cocktail culture, premiumization, consumer behavior, account priorities, and hospitality experiences.
  • Synthesize market findings into actionable insights that support commercial planning, customer strategy, portfolio priorities, and brand investment decisions.
  • Deliver regular reporting, market recaps, competitive analyses, and strategic recommendations to leadership and designated client stakeholders.

Commercial Strategy Support

    • Partner closely with the client’s commercial teams to inform channel strategy and customer engagement priorities for (2) markets.
    • Support quarterly planning processes through intelligence gathering and trend analysis.
    • Identify whitespace opportunities and competitive vulnerabilities within the on-premise channel.

Team Leadership & Field Engagement

  • Manage, coach, and develop (2) Advocacy Leads focused on trade engagement, education and market intelligence collection.
  • Foster collaboration between advocacy and commercial teams to improve communication and strategic alignment.

Agency Accountabilities. Complete accurate and timely management of agency initiatives including:

  • Budget and expense management.
  • All reporting responsibilities.
  • Tracking and management of performance data using agency-appointed platforms.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in beverage alcohol, spirits, hospitality, commercial strategy, brand advocacy, or channel marketing.
  • Strong understanding of the on-premise channel, including bars, restaurants, nightlife, and hospitality ecosystems.
  • Experience evaluating trade programming, activations, and competitive supplier activity.
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Prior people management experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to tailor communications for a variety of on-premise environments.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel monthly including nights and weekends required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Desire for mentorship and willingness to contribute to team culture.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish-speaking) a plus.
  • Manage administrative tasks with attention to meeting agency compliance guidelines and standards.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this job classification is between $125,000.00-$140,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service, brand program, and geographic location. This job classification is bonus-eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
