Company Description
Energy Capital & Power is seeking a commercially driven Commercial Manager - Americas to lead commercial activities and manage the sales team responsible for delivering revenue across key industry events, including Caribbean Energy Week and Venezuela Oil & Gas Investment Summit.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for the Americas portfolio, driving sponsorship and exhibition sales, managing key client relationships, and ensuring revenue targets are achieved. The role requires strong leadership, business development expertise, and deep engagement with energy industry stakeholders across the US, the Caribbean, Latin America, and international markets.
Job Description
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Generation
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy for Caribbean Energy Week and Venezuela International Oil & Gas Week.
- Deliver and exceed revenue targets through the sale of sponsorship packages, exhibition space, speaking opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across oil & gas, energy transition, finance, government, and service sectors.
- Create tailored commercial proposals and negotiate high-value sponsorship and partnership agreements.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, industry networking, and account management.
Sales Team Management
- Lead, manage, train and upskill the Americas sales team responsible for event sponsorship and delegate sales.
- Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching to maximize productivity and results.
- Ensure effective use of CRM systems and accurate reporting of sales activity and forecasts.
Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior decision-makers across energy companies, government agencies, investors, and service providers.
- Manage key strategic accounts and ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Represent Energy Capital & Power at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Market Development & Event Growth
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, new sectors, and partnership opportunities in the Americas energy market.
- Contribute to the development of new commercial products, sponsorship packages, and event features.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and operations teams to ensure commercial commitments are successfully delivered.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Provide regular sales reports, revenue forecasts, and market insights to the Commercial Director.
- Track commercial performance against targets and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Support budgeting and financial planning for events within the Americas portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Energy, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, or commercial management, ideally within the events, energy, or media sectors.
- Fluency in English & Spanish required; additional languages such as Portuguese, French, or Dutch are a plus.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience managing & training a sales team.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of the global energy sector, particularly oil & gas and energy investment markets, is highly desirable.
- Experience using CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
