Job Description

Job Role: Data Manager

Role Overview and Expected Deliverables

Data Manager (DM) partner with global D3E team members to design, deliver, and maintain well‑governed finance data products that support fund management operations. Leveraging Macquarie’s Big Query data platform, DM will define and prototype fit‑for‑purpose data models while embedding strong documentation, data quality, and governance practices into data pipelines.

DM will collaborate closely with business leaders and engineers to deliver secure, ethical, and actionable data products aligned to business needs. DM will be responsible in documenting both functional and non functional requirements for the delivery of Data Products.

DM will be responsible to define & enforce the Data governance policies for the Data Products including defining data classification, data ownership and access management frameworks

DM will be responsible to produce artifacts for Data Lineage, Data Dictionary, Data Mapping, Data Classification labels and Data Ownership assignments

Qualifications

Must have skills

Data governance, data product ownership, data stewardship, Collibra Catalog, Collibra Workflow, metadata management, business glossary, data quality rules, lineage, stakeholder management

Good to have skills

BigQuery understanding, Dataplex, Power BI reporting awareness, asset management domain, regulatory data governance

Core Requirements

Good understanding of finance business systems or processes including fund management, fund accounting, private credit
• Advanced knowledge of writing SQL queries and working with databases.
• Hands on experience working with dbt & Big Query
• Knowledge of Data Mesh or Domain oriented architectiures
• Good understanding of data modelling techniques  preferably Dimensional Modelling
• Proficiency using data analytic tools such as Looker, Power BI and Excel to interpret data.

• Strong analytical skills highly capable of driving insights and making data-driven decisions.
• Adaptability and willingness to explore new technologies and approaches.
• Strong business acumen and ability to align data initiatives with business objectives.

• Good understanging of Data Governance and Data Management concepts.
• Familiarity with CDMC controls for Data Management.
• Familiarity of best practices around Data Quality Management

Delivery Approach & Ways of Working

• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Use of JIRA and Confluence for delivery management and documentation.
• Proven track record collaborating effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams across engineering, product and analytics.

Experience & Other
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑starter able to lead components independently while partnering closely with internal teams.
• Preferred working in Agile and scrum teams and iterative delivery
