Job Description

The Netcracker OSS Developer / Configurator is responsible for the configuration, customization, and implementation of Netcracker OSS solutions supporting network operations and service lifecycle management. This role focuses on core OSS domains including Network Inventory, Service Provisioning, Fault Management, Performance Monitoring, Configuration Management, and Service Assurance.

The ideal candidate brings strong telecom domain expertise and hands-on experience delivering scalable OSS solutions within complex, multi-vendor network environments.

Solution Configuration & Development

  • Configure and customize Netcracker OSS modules including:
    • Network Inventory
    • Service Provisioning
    • Fault Management
    • Performance Monitoring
    • Configuration Management
    • Service Assurance
  • Develop workflows, adapters, rules, and orchestration logic to support service activation and lifecycle management.
  • Implement service models, resource models, and network topology configurations.
  • Configure event correlation, alarm rules, and monitoring thresholds.
  • Customize dashboards, reports, and operational views for NOC and service operations teams.

Integration & Automation

  • Design and implement integrations between Netcracker OSS and:
    • Network elements (via SNMP, TL1, REST, SOAP, etc.)
    • EMS/NMS platforms
    • BSS systems
    • Third-party monitoring tools
  • Support provisioning flows across multi-technology environments (IP, MPLS, Fiber, Wireless, etc.).
  • Implement automation scripts and orchestration logic to reduce manual intervention.
  • Support northbound and southbound interface configuration and troubleshooting.

Testing & Support

  • Participate in solution design and technical impact assessments.
  • Perform unit testing and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to inventory inconsistencies, provisioning failures, alarm storms, and performance degradation.
  • Support production deployments and provide post-go-live stabilization support.
  • Maintain configuration and technical documentation.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Netcracker OSS modules.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Network Inventory modeling (logical and physical resources)
    • Service Provisioning workflows
    • Fault and alarm management configuration
    • Performance metrics collection and threshold management
    • Configuration management processes
    • Service assurance and SLA monitoring
  • Strong understanding of telecom network technologies (IP, MPLS, Ethernet, GPON, LTE/5G, etc.).
  • Experience with Java-based customization within Netcracker.
  • Strong SQL and database skills (Oracle preferred).
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
  • Familiarity with SNMP, TL1, REST/SOAP APIs, and messaging frameworks.

Preferred:

  • Experience with large-scale telecom OSS transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID).
  • Understanding of FCAPS model and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with network modeling and topology design.
  • Exposure to microservices architectures and cloud-based OSS deployments.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery models.

  • Participation in both internal meetings and external meetings via video calls, as necessary.

  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer, as necessary. 
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead, as necessary. 
  • Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment, as necessary. 
  • Vision abilities including close vision, toleration of fluorescent lighting, and adjusting focus, as necessary.
