Job Description

Summary

Emsick Architects is a 6-person, service-oriented design practice working on commercial design projects primarily in Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Iowa. We have a relaxed office atmosphere and a strong belief in balancing work and personal life.

Job responsibilities:

Accounting: 
- Work with the Principal to prepare client invoices 
- Create regular General Journal entries and financial reports and review with Principal

- Billing
- Accounts receivable
- Accounts payable
- Payroll & payroll taxes
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger entries 
- Taxes (monthly, quarterly, yearly)
- Financial reporting 
- Year-end financial reporting for CPA
- Maintain documented accounting policies and procedures
- Manage company IRA program
- Support Office Coordinator as needed.

Operations: 
- Order and organize general office supplies 
- Answer phones and general emails 
- File electronic and paper documents 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in an architecture, engineering or construction firm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks is a must.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

  11. Experience working with a AEC firm a plus
  12. Thorough understanding of accounting software, e.g. QuickBooks, 
  13. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet.
  14. Ability to maintain a high standard of service by demonstrating a strong ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and frequent interruptions, remaining professional, responsive and cooperative. 
  15. Ability to work with integrity, trust and commitment
  16. Self-starter and motivated. 
  17. Extremely organized and detail oriented. 
  18. While schedule can be flexible, remains consistently punctual and reliable.

COMPENSATION:

$16-19 per hour. 10 - 15 hours per week.
