We are looking for a BI Developer for our client which is medical cost management company delivering proven solutions that enable leading healthcare organizations to reduce spend while increasing the quality of care their members expect and deserve.

Position: BI Developer with SSIS/SSRS/SSAS 

Location: Nashville TN

Duration: 6 months 

This Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer/Analyst position will be primarily responsible for report development and data analysis for the Medsolutions team. Report development will include design, construction, testing, optimization, and deployment using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS) and other BI tools.  The Senior BI Developer/Analyst will also need to be able to work effectively with business users to understand the nature of requests, develop functional specifications, ensure accurate information delivery, and work with the core Data Warehouse team to implement new data or correct existing data. This will include developing short and long term plans and system capabilities with others in the organization. Finally, the Senior BI Developer/Analyst will work to improve reporting processes and simplify the environment. This will be achieved through report consolidation and retirement, automation, and report delivery redesign.

Overall, the ideal candidate for this position will be highly skilled in reporting methodologies, reporting technologies, data manipulation and have expertise in the visualization and presentation of enterprise data.  This will need to satisfy analytical, decision support, and operational reporting needs of the business community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop analytical, decision support, and operational reporting on the SSRS and SSAS platforms.
• Work with key business partners to identify solutions to their reporting needs and, if necessary, develop new reports or modify existing reports.
• Identify process simplification opportunities for overall reporting environment.  Work with operational reporting team and business partners to automate or simplify existing processes, and to remove any manual steps from report generation and delivery.
• Manage existing report inventory and implement changes to improve the accuracy of reports (removal of hard coded values, standardization of report calculations) and to decrease the overall number of reports through retirement or consolidation.
• Work directly with ETL and Data Warehouse team to manage the development of new report subject areas as needed.
• Work directly with ETL and Data Warehouse team to maintain and correct dimensional or fact data that impacts report accuracy and availability.
• Assist in the definition of the database requirements, analyze existing models and reports looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency, and resolve technical problems.
• Ensure that existing reports meet or exceed defined performance and availability targets.  Work with core DBA and SIS teams to support environment as needed.
• Deliver all work products to defined best practice standards and ensure high quality results.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

6+ years of comprehensive report analysis and design experience with demonstrated knowledge of data warehouse / database structures.

6+ years of recent experience developing reports on SSRS or a similar platform.

6+ years of recent experience writing SQL statements.

Demonstrated experience working with business partners, development of functional and technical specifications, and general project management in service of report development cycle.

Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience managing development cycles and project management.

GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Strong sense of personal ownership for tasks and strong desire to make lasting improvements in reporting capability and delivery.

1+ years of recent healthcare data warehousing experience and exposure to medical claims and authorization data.

Experience with other reporting technologies that include SSAS, Sharepoint, Tableau, Sencha, etc.

Experience working on dashboards or other data visualization.

Experience working on process or technology simplification efforts.

Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Business Intelligence Developer.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering.  Different field of study, with significant professional experience in BI Development, is acceptable.
