Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation.
- Review drawings and specifications to identify project requirements and cost implications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis for construction projects.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control processes.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparative analyses.
- Prepare and administer contracts, variations, progress claims, and final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Assess and certify subcontractor progress payments.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Support procurement activities and material cost evaluations.
- Prepare periodic commercial and financial reports for management.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and cost management.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying and estimation software.
- Strong understanding of BOQ preparation and tendering processes.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building or infrastructure projects in the UAE
- Knowledge of FIDIC and various UAE Authorities contracts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience using AutoCAD, CostX, Planswift, or similar software is a plus.
