Job Description

The role is to lead and manage business development, based in our Shanghai office for mainland China, identifying and pursuing business opportunities to deliver Egis’ growth objectives in China – from strategy, market and competition analysis, business development, networking, stakeholders’ relationship management, marketing, bid management and negotiations to win new projects.

In addition, the role is to lead the development and implementation of the strategic orientation of the business in China. Taking into consideration the existing capabilities in the team, the trends and demands in the market moving forward and the integration of other service offerings from the wider Egis Group.

To ensure both efficiency and effectiveness in the role, they will be supported by the Country Managing Director, operational teams already active in China, technical experts from the wider Egis Group.

Strategy

  • Provide strategic insights into the buildings, infrastructure and general construction market in China.
  • Research and develop new strategic business opportunities.
  • Coordinate internally with regional and central commercial teams and Business Lines’ experts and management.
  • Work closely with senior team to deliver on the strategic orientations of the business, ensuring appropriate KPI’s are established and met

Commercial / Bid

  • Develop local market and client network, create and bring in new business opportunities.
  • Build up and grow Egis’ teams with commercial capabilities in conjunction with regional experts and leaders to fulfill Egis growth target in China.
  • Manage the Business Development, Marketing, Bid and Sales Process (Go/No Go, Bid/No Bid, negotiations, lessons learned) in line with Egis’ policies ensuring effective, efficient, and stringent adherence.
  • Ensure the Consolidation of project pipeline (Sales Plan, Order Intake) management and planning (Strategy, Budget, Forecast)
  • Business Development and bids’ budget management. Bid team management and coordination as and when required.

Communications

  • Coordinate with the Communications/Marketing regional and global teams.
  • Executive support (VIP events & conferences, material & content production etc..).
  • Visual Identity & Branding.
  • Govern Events and Exhibitions.
  • Support the production of Communications/Marketing Materials.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years’ experience in the industry.
  • Degree in engineering or architectural discipline preferred.
  • Experience of developing business opportunities in the construction sector.
  • Experience working in the AEC industry in China
  • Experience of proposal preparation, marketing and business development.
  • Proven professional experience in similar positions in China
  • Excellent communication and commercial drive.
  • Excellent in English and Chinese.
