Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in the Urban Development space to lead our Urban Development team in ACT.

In this role you will work closely with the ACT Lead to create and implement strategic plans and initiatives that assist with the growth of the sector. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Direct the day-to-day allocation of resources across the discipline to meet project requirements, identifying priorities, and organising tasks accordingly
  • Lead in the effective planning and management of significant projects across the Discipline.
  • Managing work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is performed within the bounds of the organisations policies and procedures.
  • Managing effective and efficient project delivery and quality, including meeting deadlines, commitments, and expectations, and ensuring strong cost management across the team.
  • Developing business opportunities and overseeing bid management processes in the ACT region and surrounds.
  • Coordinating resource sharing between other teams within the sector.
  • Managing, training and mentoring staff.
  • Foster and promote a diverse and inclusive team culture where employees feel they belong. Actively seek to understand and respect all dimensions of diversity, applying this to all daily work and decision making.
  • Promote good team morale by building a positive work environment and addressing conflicts when required.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Urban Development sector.
  • A CPEng status is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong relationships in the Urban Development sector.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing an individual team is desirable.
  • Understanding of ACT specifications and procedures is desirable.
