Job Description

As a Systems Safety Assurance Project Manager within the Egis Advisory business, you will be responsible for undertaking activities that will provide a high level of advice to deliver tangible solutions to our clients within the Defence sector.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Lead project management for Systems Safety and Systems Assurance for a range of projects as directed by the Defence Lead.
  • Utilise assigned resources to manage safety case development, systems assurance activities and general safety / human factors reports.
  • Conduct Independent Safety Assessments as required by the client and/or project.
  • Identify improvements and actions required to ensure compliance with Safety Legislation and Safety Management Systems, with advice and support to implement necessary changes.
  • Perform Systems Assurance reviews and preparation of compliance demonstration arguments using Goal Structured Notation.
  • Prepare and develop Safety Assurance Reports and related documents.
  • Produce high quality documents deliverables within short time frames such as hazard analysis and hazard logs.
  • Assist and support preparation of proposals as required.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment with extensive experience working on Defence projects. In addition, you will also have:

  • Current (or ability to obtain) Australian Government Security Clearance (minimum Baseline level).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering or similar relevant degree.
  • Post graduate qualifications in Systems Safety desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a Systems Safety Assurance Engineering role within a defence, rail, aviation or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of full-life cycle project management of projects within defence, rail, aviation or equivalent public sector roles.
  • Prior experience in general consulting and advisory services for client/s.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian standards and guidelines and ability to adhere to industry best practices.
  • Well-developed client relationship management skills as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
