Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer to contribute to the evolution of our IQ Plus product. IQ Plus leverages intelligence from the world’s largest sustainability performance database, customer procurement data and screening of supplier-specific documents using the latest data mining and AI technologies..

In this new role, you will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in the overall design, architecture, and integration of our data systems
  • Building, maintaining and running secure cloud-native data collection, ETL and analytics pipelines
  • Provide APIs in our ecosystem to help build user-facing applications on top of our data backends
  • Representing our KPI-driven data development and assure & monitor our data quality & transparency goals for the highest impact possible
  • Engaging in our data-driven development processes
  • Guiding, implementing and supporting generation of synthetic and human-labelled training data and advance preprocessing algorithms and improving our data collection & classification processes
  • Being an example of our company culture and values
  • As the role evolves you might also expect to:
  • Create reports on qualitative and quantitative properties of new data, e.g. distribution of labels and overlaps of training data
  • Batch processing and data streaming with tools such as Kafka, Snowflake, Spark etc.

Qualifications

  • Experience in bringing data products to market
  • Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field (or equivalent in working experience)
  • Demonstrable, KPI-driven data leadership experience with a history of strong decision-making skills; prior experience managing and supervising tech teams
  • Extensive experience in data engineering using languages such as Python
  • High proficiency in cloud technologies & infrastructure such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS and data technologies such as etc.
  • Familiarity with Web-Scraping processes & frameworks
  • Experience with different data sources like NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Min.io, Redis etc.) and Storage Backends would be a plus
  • Experience with setups and maintenance of data lakes would be advantageous
  • Fun, self-motivated, proactive and service-oriented personality with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
