Job Description

Our Finance and Administration department delivers efficient and effective operations and processes that are foundational to EcoVadis’ ability to drive continuous improvement in companies’ sustainable business practices at scale.

We are  seeking a Billing & Collection Associate to join the Finance team in Mexico.

This position is responsible for full-cycle multi-currency accounts receivable; including billing, billing modifications, processing incoming payments, collections and reconciling customer accounts. This position interacts with internal and external customers on a daily basis and must provide a consistently high level of customer service and ethics.

 Core responsibilities:

  • Maintain and engage with a portfolio of aging receivables accounts via phone and emails to recover all past due accounts,
  • Research disputed accounts as needed to determine the cause and validity of the delinquency.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve and/or identify significant collection and billing issues and escalate appropriately,
  • Process and reconcile payment where required
  • Promptly responding to customer queries via email, phone, and other channels where required.
  • Obtaining and sharing customer feedback with colleagues and other departments so that products and services can be improved.
  • Attend workshops and meetings as required.
  • Respect client confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborate with EcoVadis internal stakeholders to resolve any billing and debt collection queries efficiently and effectively. 
  • Assist with a variety of internal projects based on the needs of the organization.
  • Participate in new pilot projects and work towards proper transition of knowledge to the team.
  • Act as mentor and trainer to junior team members.
  • Guide junior team members to reduce AR aging and optimize collections.
  • Collaborate with the Managers  to develop processes to improve productivity and quality of the team.
  • Work with the Managers to resolve any conflicts that may arise within the team.
  • Liaise with international colleagues from all departments regularly to assist and add value to the EcoVadis global mission.
  • Manage some office administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish and English is a must. Additional languages will be a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years experience of working in billing and collection with experience is required.
  • Degree in a Business, Management or Finance related discipline would be preferred, but applicants with other backgrounds will be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and telephone)
  • Good understanding of accounting principles
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office tools

  • Hybrid position: upto 8 days per month in office  
  • Start date: ASAP
