Job Description

To fuel our expansion and support our global business needs, we are seeking for an experienced Localization Engineer to join our Solutions team. This role will be responsible for streamlining our localization processes across different BUs to ensure the highest quality of our SaaS products in all supported languages.

Job description:

  • Supports end-to-end translation workflow with automations and integrations (GitHub, Figma, InDesign, Wordpress, Phrase TMS, CMS, internal tools);
  • Identifies gaps, inefficiencies or redundancies in tools and processes and drives improvement efforts to minimize manual or repetitive tasks; 
  • Ensures internationalization at the coding level, e.g. RTL, date formats, complex tagging, interpolation vs. concatenation;
  • Checks various file types for localization issues prior to the translation process in TMS;
  • Helps to coordinate LQA efforts in test environment with internal or external testers;
  • Works closely with App Support to coordinate fixes for bugs found by product users;
  • Explores and expands the use of TMS features, e.g. project automation, segmentation rules, filter configurations; 
  • Curates translation memories, e.g. regular clean-ups of deprecated terms or duplicated segments;
  • Gathers and analyzes localization data, e.g. edit distance or word count per provider;
  • Helps to create and maintain processes documentation;
  • Supports the localization project management team in peak times.

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science, localization, or equivalent; 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the localization industry or SaaS development as an engineer, process owner, or in a similar role; 
  • A proficient speaker of English (additional languages are a significant plus);
  • Solid understanding of all stages of development;
  • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g. Jira) and technologies like TMS, CMS, Python, C#, Regex, HTML, CSS, Javascript, i18n libraries, ICU, Unicode;
  • Self-driven and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and a problem-solving attitude;
  • Ability to communicate ideas and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Ability to self-organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
  • A keen eye for detail.
