Our ratings cover four overarching sustainability themes (Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, Sustainable Procurement), covering a total of twenty-one sustainability criteria.

The ultimate goal of the Sustainability Themes Lead role is to make sure that our ratings are aligned with the most relevant concepts and standards for each of the four themes covered by the EcoVadis ratings, and that there is alignment among the four themes. The Sustainability Themes Lead will need to quickly master the Evaluation Services team concepts, processes and guidelines to define and implement the methodology strategy of the sustainability themes.

  • Define the Sustainability Themes methodology strategy and prioritize the relevant methodology development initiatives in collaboration with the Themes Subject Matter Experts
  • Ensure there is a harmonized methodology approach among the four themes, including by acting as the owner of the EcoVadis Reference Model
  • Monitor the latest changes in the global sustainability landscape through continuous research and market scan, including in areas previously unexplored by the EcoVadis methodology, and share methodology knowledge and expertise with the rest of the team
  • Supervise the delivery of methodology projects related to sustainability themes, including by sponsoring projects, providing project management support to ensure projects are set up for success and aligned with our internal methodology change process, updating Product Board and validating methodology proposals
  • Lead strategic cross-themes projects, when needed
  • Contribute to the definition of the overall EcoVadis methodology strategy, including by participating in the Methodology Roadmap Committee.
  • Contribute to strategic methodology projects from other methodology sub-teams, including by aligning on project objectives and timeline, as well as validating methodology proposals.

  • Strategic-thinker with an understanding of how emerging sustainability trends are shaping the market and how this should be translated in the EcoVadis rating methodology.
  • Experienced manager with the ability to develop and empower a team of experts, and foster collaboration.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills, and ability to explain complex concepts in a synthetic way.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and inspirational team player, with the capacity to keep multiple and complex projects moving forward concurrently, to engage other teams within the Methodology sub-department as well as in the wider organization (Product Management, Business Technology Support, Solutions Consulting, Marketing departments etc.), and to mediate discussions between impacted stakeholders.
