Job Description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager for Private Equity and Sustainable Finance, within the New Solutions team. You will report to the VP New Solutions.

EcoVadis New Solutions department is responsible for the development, launch and implementation of new products and services within EcoVadis solutions portfolio. With its historical solution, EcoVadis Ratings for Procurement, EcoVadis has revolutionized the way large organizations and their procurement departments are addressing sustainable development issues in their supply chain. Building on this success, EcoVadis New Solutions expands its reach and impact to other markets and other use cases by diversifying EcoVadis solutions portfolio.

We have currently several use cases in Sustainable Finance: 

Private Equity firms assess and monitor the sustainability of their portfolio companies

Banks build ESG-linked loans based on sustainability performance of their borrowers

Banks and Corporate design a Sustainable Supply Chain Finance Program based on the sustainability performance of suppliers

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to play a key role in developing our new business of serving Private Equity firms and other Finance players.

This position will be responsible for the market analysis, input to product development, sales support of our commercial team globally as well as supporting our existing clients in PE and Sustainable Finance today. 

Responsibilities

1-Strategy and Value proposition

  • Planning of the overall sales and go-to-market strategy for Sustainable Finance, monitoring targets and objectives
  • Engaging with clients and prospects interpreting their needs so as to feed new products and services requirements for future development and refine EcoVadis value proposition for Private Equity and Sustainable Finance
  • Analyzing the very dynamic market, reporting on trends, competition 

2-Direct support to the Frontline team

  • Developing all materials needed to support in selling the solution to prospective clients and in deploying our programs to prospective clients
  • Training, coaching and assisting sales teams in their sales cycles, complementing their sales skills with in-depth industry knowledge and expertise

3-Lead generation and growth activities

  • Developing partnerships to generate pipeline growth 
  • Coordinating and organizing demand generating activities like tradeshows, company events or client workshops
  • Coordinating and writing white paper, potentially connecting with centers of influence (e.g., consulting, academics)  to build brand awareness

Qualifications

  • Business degree 
  • Expertise of the Private Equity sector - Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and selling solutions into the Private Equity industry or working as a practitioner in the Private Equity industry
  • Expertise on ESG / Sustainability topics and their use in Sustainable Finance
  • Experience in Business Development, sales or marketing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset  - ability to pursue new and unprecedented opportunities, pushing beyond “the known”, taking bold steps
  • Understanding of SaaS platforms
  • Multitasking & prioritization - ability to handle several responsibilities, work under time constraints, adapt to rapidly changing events and environments, judge priorities, keep track of details.
  • Relationship skills - Ability to listen, Interact well with others, quickly establish rapport, Build relationships, and take account of the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Market and product - ability to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of product components, design, features and benefits when communicating product features or design and tailoring the message to meet customer needs.
  • Presentation and Communication skills, oral and written - Ability to present information and findings clearly so they can be understood by a variety of audiences with different levels of knowledge and interests.
  • Data analysis and Metrics creation - ability to collect, analyze and interpret data and Develops, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics. 
  • Troubleshooting - ability to resolve issues by diagnosing problems, determining possible resolutions and implementing effective solutions.
  • English fluent, Other language is a plus.
