Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Kitchen & Beverage Specialist, reporting directly and equally to both the Food & Beverage Manager and the Head Chef, is a critical liaison between the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams. This role supports beverage programs, culinary operations, inventory management, and vendor coordination while ensuring operational consistency and service excellence across all outlets. 

This position strengthens beverage knowledge, supports cost control, and drives an exceptional guest experience through disciplined execution of systems and standards.

Kitchen & BOH Operations 

  • Support Executive Chef and culinary teams in daily operations related to purchasing, receiving, order guides, transfers, waste logs, and shortage management 
  • Maintain communication with corporate teams regarding recipe and cost updates; flag discrepancies or inconsistencies 
  • Coordinate distribution of recipes, ingredient updates, order guides, par levels, and product lead times across outlets 
  • Assist with ordering, cost tracking, and product specifications (ID, pack size, brand, lead times) 
  • Coordinate menu rollouts, seasonal updates, and holiday programs 
  • Establish par levels and storage organization to support cost control and efficiency 

Inventory & Financial Control 

  • Participate in daily and monthly FOH and BOH inventory processes 
  • Prepare storage areas and systems in advance to ensure accurate counts 
  • Assist with counts, data entry, and variance analysis 
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in partnership with Inventory Control 
  • Identify and explain all cost variances and anomalies as they pertain to the margin tracker and month-end statements 

Vendor & Receiving Operations 

  • Manage Food and beverage vendor relationships, including delivery schedules, lead times, and product substitutions, delivery locations as well as product availability 
  • Oversee receiving processes at the loading dock and in D365, ensuring accuracy and compliance including weights, counts, and product consistency 
  • Ensure that all items are distributed as per the PO and department. 
  • Label /date boxes as well as returns 
  • Process purchase orders, inter-store transfers, and shipments 
  • Resolve credits/returns, shortages, and discrepancies with vendors and internal teams 

Systems & Administrative 

  • Utilize D365 and POS systems for ordering, inventory, and reporting 
  • Maintain accurate system data including recipes, pricing, and product listings 
  • Audit and clean POS systems to ensure consistency 
  • Maintain clear communication across FOH, BOH, and corporate teams in all stated areas 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute specials, seasonal features, and holiday initiatives 
  • Support beverage ordering, transfers, and storage 
  • Act as a liaison across departments and locations 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience involving kitchen operations
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, ever-changing work environment
  • Culinary experience in professional kitchens
  • Good knife skills and finger dexterity to use small tools and utensils adeptly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
  • Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting
  • Ability to work with commercial equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.
