Job Description

The Customer Support Engineer at StarQuest Ventures provides our customers with accurate, timely response and assistance with fulfilling their product deployment and diagnostic needs. Customer Support Engineers should have a comprehensive understanding of database administration, architecture and/or information technology. The successful candidate is customer-focused with a positive attitude and should be ready to quickly learn about StarQuest’s products and services.

  • Pre and post-sale customer support for StarQuest data replication products
  • Respond to current customer technical questions and resolve issues including software installation, diagnostics and upgrade
  • Proactive monitoring and tuning of customer deployments
  • Use the customer support ticketing system
  • Contribute to technical notes in in-house CRM
  • Be available for on-call support as needed outside of regular business hours
  • Assist with other tasks such as QA for new releases

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong command of Microsoft SQL and Microsoft SQL Server tools and Windows administration, specifically as it pertains to installing software
  • Familiarity with databases, networking, Windows administration
  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Task orientation with strong time management skills
  • Expertise in handling sensitive and confidential information

Experience Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Experience with database technologies (e.g. Oracle, Db2, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce)

Structure and Compensation

  • The position is 100% remote, full-time and exempt
  • StarQuest will provide all necessary computer equipment
  • Employee is responsible for providing a suitable workspace
  • Employee will be assigned a fixed weekly schedule
  • The position occasionally entails working outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends based upon customer requirements
