INFECTION PREVENTIONIST CERTIFIED (RN PREFERRED)

JOB SUMMARY: Plans, implements, and evaluates infection prevention and control measures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.1 Monitors and investigates known or suspected sources of infections in order to determine the source and ensure control.
1.2 Reviews, analyzes, and implements regulations, standards, and/or guidelines of applicable governmental agencies and professional organizations.
1.3 Collaborates in the development and delivery of educational programs and/or tools that relate to infection prevention, control, and epidemiology
1.4 Reports infection surveillance, prevention and control in formation to local, state and federal public health authorities in accordance with law and regulation. 1.5 Serves as the infection prevention consultant for multiple departments.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Required: Graduate of accredited school of nursing or other health related field. Preferred: Bachelor's RN or Medical Microbiologist

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: License Preferred: Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days if applicable. Certification Required: Certified Infection Control (CIC).

WORK EXPERIENCE: Required: Three (3) years in Infection Control. Preferred: Five (5) years related experience in nursing, microbiology, utilization review, education.
