INFECTION PREVENTIONIST RN 

Our Hospital is seeking a highly qualified Infection Preventionist who directs and coordinates the infection control program within the hospital. The PI is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Surveillance, Prevention, and Control Programs policies, coordinating all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitates ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred. Certification Board of Infection Control preferred

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:
Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year experience in patient care practices, microbiology, aseptic technique, disinfection/sterilization,
Infectious diseases, program administration, and/or epidemiology preferred.
Previous management experience preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Evaluative skills necessary for patient assessment.
Decision making skills required for treatment planning/implementation.
Clinical reasoning and judgment skills necessary for evaluation of nursing interventions and for safety of patients and self.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with patients, visitors and staff.
Ability to recognize a need for and alter communication with patients with communication impairments.
Ability to manage time, organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards, and cope with professional stress
