CLINICAL NURSE LEADER - EMERGENCY SERVICES 

Job Description

A successful CNL on our team will lead transformational patient care delivery providing coaching, mentorship and education for the Emergency Department nursing team. Be a catalyst for improving the quality and safety of patients and work at the point of care delivery to transfer knowledge and patient outcome management to the nursing team.


Our ideal candidate for the CNL will have at least five years of Emergency Nursing Clinical experience and one year of progressively responsible leadership experience.  


Required to be considered: Current Washington RN license or ability to obtain by date of hire; BLS and ACLS certification by date of hire; Master’s Degree in Nursing with emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader role; minimum of two years clinical nurse experience in an inpatient hospital setting required including 1 year of progressively responsible leadership experience 


Strongly preferred: Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification.


Essential Functions of position:

1 Provide oversight for continuous innovation of care coordination.

2 Build capacity for clinical inquire in the nursing staff.

3. Conduct small tests of change using rapid action improvement framework and lean principles.

4. Develop sustainability model for deployed interventions to improve patient outcomes.

5. Integrate the nursing model and components of the model into a cohesive framework consistent in all essential role functions and interactions with patients and staff.

6. Communicate and collaborate with all members of the healthcare team to actualize the care delivery model.

7. Educate the nursing staff on new research and evidence-based practice at the point of care.

8. Ensure core measure compliance is integrated into the unit-based workflows as designed.

9. Identify problem areas in the delivery of patient care and revises complex patient care plans to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

10. Attend bed meetings to identify opportunities to intervene in the care of complicated patients and opportunities to improve systems and processes.

11. Provide direct management of assigned staff including but not limited to coaching, counseling and disciplinary action; performance management of assigned staff, unit functions and standardization; staff development, preceptor development and development and maintenance of competency standards.

 12. Lead nursing shared governance council committee as assigned.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.


CANDIDATE DETAILS

2+ to 5 years experience


Minimum Education - Master's Degree


SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

MSN with emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader role 

Ability to obtain Washington RN license 

Current BLS and ACLS 

Clinical Nurse Leader certification 

Minimum of 5 years clinical nurse experience in the Emergency Department

Minimum of 2 years clinical nurse experience in an inpatient hospital setting 

1 year of progressively responsible leadership experience 

RN Background in Emergency Medicine 

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Our ideal candidate will have the CNL certification and have at least five years of Emergency Nursing experience and one year of progressively responsible leadership experience.
