Job Description The Controller is responsible for managing, developing, coordinating, and controlling all Accounting and Business Systems activities of the office. It ensures policies, procedures, systems, and controls for the recording and reporting of financial operations are adhered to without deviation. This leader is the primary driver behind the preparation of month end closing, rolling forecasts, profit plan and strategic plan. This position also inspires effective and open communication with all departments to enhance teamwork and profitability.

• Act as business partner to the regional business leader (General Manager / Vice President or Product Line Manager) and carry out ad hoc projects on behalf of the regional business leader and Group Finance Director.
• Coordinate and prepare the annual budget, rolling forecasts and board estimates.
• Provide the local business management with meaningful and insightful Financial Planning and Analysis information which will allow better decision making leading to sustainable profitable growth and accurate revenue, margin and cash forecasting.
• Provide senior Crouse-Hinds MTL management with reliable, accurate and timely financial information and investigate any significant variances from budget and forecast
• Actively lead the Accounting Organization in accordance with generally accepted procedures and corporate policy related to: maintaining financial accounts and records, preparing and issuing of statements, invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Proactively engage as a business partner with functional Management in a manner to ensure correct, concise and timely information. Coordinate the development of new processes and the modification of existing processes to meet business and Division objectives.
• Provide direction to operations and leadership teams in pursuit of business goals and objectives. Implement and evaluate the effect of Accounting system's changes in practice and/or procedure as required by changes within operations, or as disseminated by Corporate or Division Headquarters.
• Review all of the business statements and reports and anticipate areas of concern in a timely fashion. Working with the division controller, establish corrective action to be taken when identifying significant problems.
• Develop, guide, motivate, and train efficient and effective individuals to meet business objectives.
• Maintain creditability and reliability in financial and informational data furnished to business unit management for use in decision making.
• Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure an adequate environment of internal control. Provide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all applicable statutory requirements as they apply to their areas of responsibility.
• Lead department activities related to process improvements and standard work. Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing business goals.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) BS Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics from an accredited Institution
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation required
Minimum of 3 years of accounting/finance experience
Must be authorized to work in the US without Company Sponsorship
No relocation is provided for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50 mile radius will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years Big Four Experience preferred
DAC Easy Accounting System Experience
Experience dealing with commercial sales teams in terms of pricing, business strategies and forecasting
Process Improvement/system implementation experience
Management of people experience
Must have technical and theoretical knowledge of Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Systems.
Computer skills are required, including advanced skills specifically with excel.
Must exhibit maturity, good business acumen, intelligence, professionalism, proven writing and speaking skills, plus the ability to deal effectively, persistently, cooperatively, and persuasively with others.
Must be responsive to personnel and an avid listener.
Preferrably 3+ years’ experience in all phases of business operations, including management and non-management in all areas of Planning, Accounting and Systems is preferred
